Rise the ranks

Can you become a Queen of the Land?

Queens of the land (USCF 1300+)

For serious chess players who want to improve at a high level. These classes will probably be held in small groups of 3-5, or may be private lessons depending on interest. We will cover game reviews, advanced calculation/strategy, instructive games, and more.

Pawn PrImaries (Basic Rules)

For your younger ones who are interested in the game and just starting out, we provide beginner lessons to help them get on their feet and ready for their first few tournaments! Our sessions will include rules of the game, practice play, and will also introduce chess notation. We hope to encourage and grow their interest with fun activities (still related to the game and for their improvement of course)!

Knight Novices (USCF 300-800)

For those who have already finished playing in their first five to ten tournaments and are comfortable with the rules of the game, we will work on more beginner topics and better understanding of positions. This may include more practice games, tactical training, and introduction of main opening principles and middle game ideas. This group is for those whose USCF rating is between 300-750, though exceptions can be made!

Rook Rulers (USCF 800-1300)

If you have been playing in chess tournaments for a while already, have mastered the basics of the game, and are looking ahead to more improvement of your game and more advanced topics, this is the group for you! We will continue game reviews, tactical training, more advanced lesson material, and can modify lesson plans to interests of the group (so if you already know an area you would like to improve in your game, this is a great way for us to help you personally)! For this group, we may also host friendly tournaments.
